If you can not see the characters
If you can not hear the sound

 

If you can not see the characters:

Windows

  • If you are running Windows (2000, XP) and have Microsoft Office or FrontPage you can download and run the font installer for the Arial Unicode MS font (13.37MB).
  • You can also download the Bitstream Cyberbit font and install it in your Fonts folder.

  • If the fonts above have been tried and you are still having trouble, please try the following:

    Windows XP Users:
    Click the Start button -> Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Click the "Language" tab -> Check the checkbox next to the "Install files for East Asian languages" option and then click the "OK" button.

    Windows 2000 Users:
    Click the Start button -> Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Click the "Language" tab -> Enable the "Simplified Chinese" option and then click the "OK" button.

    Older versions of windows:
    For older versions of windows you can try installing the Chinese IME (Input Method Enabler) from Microsoft.

Mac

  • Apple Macintosh OS X users can enable Chinese input in system preferences, in the "International" window, in the "Input Menu" tab.
  • If you are running Mac OS and have the Language Kit installed, the following Chinese fonts are included and should work for the chinese simplified characters: Beijing, Fang Song, Hei, Kai, Song, STFangSong, STHeiti, STKaiti, STSong.
